Accepted formats

Tanzania local numbers are normalized automatically. International destinations must be supported by the rates available to your account. Use GET /v1/rates as the source of truth.

Character limits and billing

You are charged one credit per SMS part. GSM-7 messages fit 160 septets in one part, or 153 septets per part when concatenated. Unicode messages fit 70 UTF-16 code units in one part, or 67 per part when concatenated.

Emoji, Arabic, Chinese, curly quotes, and some accented characters can switch a message to Unicode. Check credits_used in the send response for the exact billed amount.
